Work hardening in metastable high entropy alloys: a modified five-parameter model

Excellent work hardening in transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP)-enabled metastable high entropy alloys (HEAs) owe to persistent austenite (γ) martensite (ε) phase transformation; non-basal slip activity and deformation twinning the transformed martensitic are additional mechanisms that contribute selected TRIP HEAs. Mechanical response of HEAs under uniaxial tension is characterized by an intermediate stage distinguished a gradual increase rate preceded succeeded stages rapid drop rate. A five-parameter empirical model replicates nature curve has been developed. The ease parametric identification from global stress-strain simplifies implementation over physically based models. As propensity stress induced transformation related stacking fault energy (SFE) parent phase, attempt made correlate parameters with SFE.
